Visit the library

You will need:

  • To know where your nearest library is and the best way to get there
  • To get a library membership card (this is free). To do this you will need proof of your address such as a letter/bill addressed to you
  • To allow time to explore the library when you are there

  • The library doesn’t just have books to borrow – it also has toys, DVDs, puzzles, CDs magazines
  • You can use the internet at the library for free (ask about free computer lessons)
  • The library is a great source for information on a range of issues – ask at the desk to find out what your local library can offer you
  • Most libraries offer free story book times
  • There is a mobile library that visits some areas
  • You can order library books online (but need to collect these at the library)
  • Libraries can support your family in many ways
